Connect your iPhone to OBS.
Three ways to get an Airlive camera into OBS — pick the one that fits your setup. Running Airlive Bridge? That one needs no plugin at all.
One-time install — for the plugin paths
- Download Airlive Camera for OBS from the Downloads page — it adds the Airlive Camera source.
- Run the installer and restart OBS.
- In OBS, click + under Sources — you'll see the Airlive sources listed below.
OBS 30+ · macOS 14+ · keep every device on the same local Wi-Fi. Screen Mirroring is a separate plugin. The Airlive Bridge method below skips this step entirely.
Three ways
Pick your source.
Airlive Camera
iPhones on the Airlive Camera app — the cleanest, remote-controllable feed.
- In OBS: Sources → + → Airlive Camera.
- On the iPhone: Airlive Camera → Live, pick this Mac.
- In the source's Properties: delay, live settings, and control (tally, lens, exposure).
- Optional: set a receiver password.
The Airlive Camera app is free on the App Store. No app on the phone? Bring any iPhone in with Screen Mirroring (below).
Airlive Bridge
Running Airlive Bridge as a switcher? It publishes its Program as a system camera, so OBS takes it like any webcam.
- Install Airlive Bridge on the same Mac and run it.
- In OBS: Sources → + → Video Capture Device, then pick Airlive Bridge Virtual Camera.
- Whatever you CUT to Program in Bridge shows here — the cut is instant.
No plugin on this path. A compressed stream belongs to the camera that produced it, so switching cameras used to make the receiver resynchronise and the picture held for a moment. The virtual camera carries frames, which have nothing to resynchronise — and the picture is not re-compressed on the way.
Airlive Screen Mirroring
Any iPhone, no app — mirror the screen over AirPlay. Also how you bring in Blackmagic Camera or any other app: set it to a clean feed and mirror.
- Install the Airlive Screen Mirroring plugin — a separate download.
- In OBS: Sources → + → Airlive Screen Mirroring.
- On the iPhone: Control Center → Screen Mirroring → pick this Mac.
Mirrors the whole screen, with no tally or lens control.
Troubleshooting
Stuck?
The source doesn't appear in the + menu
OBS wasn't restarted after install. Quit OBS fully and reopen.
The iPhone doesn't see the Mac
Both must be on the same Wi-Fi. Check the network allows local discovery — some guest networks block it.
“Airlive Bridge Virtual Camera” isn't in the device list
Bridge isn't running, or it started after OBS did. Launch Bridge first, then reopen the Video Capture Device properties.
The Airlive Bridge Virtual Camera stays black
Nothing is on Program in Bridge yet — CUT a camera to Program.
